Pointer: Sour Duck at Blogher.org

This is to announce I'm one of the Contributing Editors at the newly-unveiled BlogHer website. My beat is Feminism & Gender.

You can view my entries at the website, or subscribe to my syndication feed.

Here’s a sample: I wrote about "Blog For Choice Day", both prior to the event, and afterwards.

I also have a running series I've dubbed "Around the Dial", the title of which is taken from the Kinks' song of the same title. The "Around the Dial" posts will give readers a taste of what's happening in the feminist blogosphere.

Additionally, I've mirrored a couple of entries from my Quote o' the Month series over at the BlogHer site, and will probably continue to re-distribute relevant quotes over at that site.

My colleagues (is that too dry a term?) are posting some excellent "surfing guides" at the BlogHer site. I feel if I highlight some articles I will inadvertently undermine others through omission—so I leave it to you, lovely reader, to visit the site yourself to see what’s on offer.

Thank you and good-night.

Any hints on how to pick up your feed as well as the site as a whole on Bloglines?

I was looking over the site and couldn't figure out if there's a way to subscribe to a category feed: for example, I'd love to subscribe not just to you but to the whole Feminism&Gender crew, as well as the Academia&Research feed, but I don't see a way to do that. Any hints? Thanks.

Terry - If you click on the "subscribe to my feed at Blogher" at the end of my post, that'll give you a page with some code. Simply copy and paste the url link (in the address field of your browser) in the "add" field ("Blog or URL") in Bloglines.

For your convenience, here is the feed link:

http://blogher.org/blog/melinda-casino/feed

That should do the trick, email me if it doesn't.

Ahist - I'll use "Research & Academia" as an example:

1) At the BlogHer Site, click on the subject heading "Research & Academia" (find a blog post and then click on the category at the top of the post).

2) That should take you to a page that has all the recent posts for "Research & Academia".

3) Scroll to the bottom of that page - there is a small orange button with white curves on it. This is a site feed button. Click on it.

4) That'll give you the feed page for that category. As I explained to Terry above, copy the url and paste it into whatever blog aggregator you use to add blogs to your subscriptions list.

I believe I've gotten all the details correct, but email me if you need further help.
