TechMeme vs. Megite

Some items I found through Megite:

Who is America's Top Coffee Seller?

No. Nooooooo! My middle-class eyes are bleeding. Oh, my beloved Maple Macchiato

Notebooks dropping to $99

I left a comment at Listics a while ago saying I'd only buy a laptop if it cost under $100. At the time, the only laptop that came close was the result of an initiative by MIT Media Lab called One Laptop Per Child, and it aimed to benefit underprivileged kids, not cheap bastards like myself.

However, I figured this development would have a knock-on effect on the wider notebook/laptop market. This Megite item links to two bloggers writing about this story from ZD Net.

The news is too good to be true, of course (the catch is you have to commit to a cable internet connection that costs upwards of $300), but hopefully this will influence the market.

I stuck that Listics mention in there because I thought it would tickle Mr. Paynter.

I might have been name-dropping as well. Hard to tell.

Couldn't care less about Borat, and this may prove I'm outside the cultural zeitgeist. Would suggest you rent or buy I'm Alan Partridge instead. (Ah-haaaa!)

Jeff wins "most creative and funny Megite title" with his "Most wikis only go to 10, mine goes to 11" post. However, I've lost the link.

I'm sure you've sussed out by now that I just can't deliver on the blog post title.

But it's a lovely eye-catcher, isn't it? Use it at your own blog and fulfill its promise.
