Wayward whales make it back to Pacific Ocean - almost

More news about the "wayward whales" situation: both whales have been spotted near Tiburon, which is about five miles from the Pacific Ocean.

As for the wounds the whales suffered, some of those are improving, although scientists haven't been able to examine the gashes yet.

It looks like the mother and calf are back on track. Quite a long cycle for this news story, I'm still tentative about saying "yay team whales!" until they're safely back in the ocean.

These whales have been known to circle.
