Quote o' the Month: kactus's blog
A quote that reads better in context, but which certainly stands alone just fine:
But I know what we weren't laughing at. We weren't laughing about rape. We weren't laughing about genocide. We weren't laughing about calling other women "bitch" and "cunt." We weren't fantasizing about breast implants, tummy tucks, or how to catch the guy at work. We weren't laughing about how "unattractive" women are unfuckable.
So to call us humorless is to miss the point entirely. We just don’t find the cultural norm—of putting a woman in her place for our amusement—to be all that funny, because we’ve all been the target. —kactus's blog (housed at Our Word), "Notes from a humorless feminist".
